Sab Dextrose Agar is recommended for the isolation of pathogenic yeasts and fungi.

• The addition of Chloramphenicol inhibits the growth of a broad spectrum of gram negative and gram positive bacteria.

• The addition of Gentamicin inhibits the growth of gram negative bacteria. Chloramphenicol and Gentamicin play a role in inhibiting the large majority of contaminating bacteria.
